Try the demo
Run pilothouse demo to try the real web app against pretend agents, on this computer or your phone, without touching your daemon, hooks or sessions.
pilothouse demo runs the real Pilothouse web app against an inbox of pretend agents that keep asking for things: permission requests, questions and plans. Answer from this computer’s browser or from your phone.
pilothouse demo
It lives in a temporary directory that is deleted when you press Ctrl-C. Your daemon, hooks, paired devices, settings and real sessions are not touched. Nothing reaches your real agents.
On this computer
The demo listens on a free port on 127.0.0.1 and opens the browser already signed in. To print the link without opening a browser:
pilothouse demo --no-open
To keep everything local and skip the phone setup:
pilothouse demo --local
On your phone
The phone needs HTTPS it can reach. When Tailscale is connected with HTTPS certificates enabled, the demo serves itself on your tailnet for as long as it runs and shows a QR code to pair:
pilothouse demo
It uses https://<this machine>:8443 by default. It never takes over a port Tailscale already serves; choose another one with --tailscale-port:
pilothouse demo --tailscale-port 8444
The temporary Tailscale Serve entry stops with the demo. Nothing is exposed to the public internet.
What to try
- Approve a request. Today opens the oldest request in place: the command, its risk and what the agent proved. Press and hold Hold to allow, or tap Deny. The › button opens its page with the rule that asked and Allow for session.
- Answer a question or plan. Pick an option, type an answer, approve a plan, or send it back with what to change.
- Make it a rule. Turn an answer into a rule with one tap, then try the Would this be allowed? tester.
- Start a task. Pick a pretend repo, agent and prompt, then review the diff and ship or discard it.
- Look at Insights. See usage, cost, what the rules allowed and blocked, and the daily budget.
- Read a session’s report. Tap a finished session: what was asked, what the agent said, its proof (tests, lint, build), how it got there and the diffs.
- Reply or open the terminal. Reply to a finished session, or open the live terminal for a wrapped one.
- Switch light and dark with the sun/moon button in the top bar.
When you are done, press Ctrl-C. The demo’s directory, database and pretend sessions are removed.
