Short version: we don’t want your data.
This page covers two things: this website, and the Pilothouse program you install. Last updated 22 October 2026.
The Pilothouse program
No telemetry. Pilothouse does not collect or send anything about your sessions, prompts, commands, file paths, repositories or decisions.
The one automatic request it makes is an update check, once a day, to pilothouse.dev/api/version. It sends the Pilothouse version, your OS and CPU architecture, and a random identifier that changes every month (so we can count roughly how many installs are active without being able to follow one over time). The endpoint returns the latest version number and does not log or store what it receives. Turn it off with update_check: false in ~/.pilothouse/config.yaml or PILOTHOUSE_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1.
Everything else stays on your machine, except what you explicitly configure Pilothouse to send:
- Notifications to the channels you set up (Web Push through your phone vendor’s push service, ntfy, Slack, Discord, desktop). Those services see the notification text.
- Your phone talks to your own machine over your Tailscale network. There is no Pilothouse server in between and no Pilothouse account.
This website
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts, no cookies. Fonts are served from this domain. Your light/dark theme choice is kept in your browser’s local storage and never sent anywhere.
If you sign up for updates or the Cloud waitlist
We store:
- your email address,
- which form you used and whether you asked for updates or the Cloud waitlist,
- the referring page and any
utm_*campaign tags in the URL, so we know which posts are useful, - the time you signed up,
- a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to stop abuse (rate limiting). We don’t store the IP itself.
We use your email only to send what you signed up for: release notes, or one message when Pilothouse Cloud opens. We never sell or share it. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To remove your address, use the form below; it is deleted immediately.
Signups are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon. The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, processes standard request logs (such as IP address and user agent) to serve and protect the site.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes for the program will also be in the changelog.
